Dealing with unexpected disasters is devastating. It can change your life forever; water, fire, sewage, mold, whatever it may be, it's always going to be an inconvenience and change you in many ways. Knowing where to start and who to reach out for help is important.
Contact Your Insurance Agent For Help
Call your insurance Agent and let them know your situation and how they can help. Usually they'll recommend to contact SERVPRO to help with cleanup and restoration services, along with proper documentation of everything for your insurance claim.
If you don't have insurance. You can reach out to local organizations who might be able to help.
What Next?
Family first. Make sure you and your loved ones are safe and out of danger. Contact your local disaster relief services, The Salvation Army, The American Red Cross, ETC. They can help provide shelter, food, clothing, medicines, and almost anything you need after an event of a disaster.
Help Your Pets
Try to leave your pet with a family member, or a friend during the process if possible. Comfort your pet as they can be in shock just as much as you are. Avoid keeping your pets at the location where the loss occurred, show them love and keep them safe.
