Regardless of which city or town you’re in, you'll likely find signs of graffiti and vandalism. It can be found on commercial property, residential property, strip malls, public transportation and billboards. Graffiti is done in all sorts of ways too; like paint, spray paint, etching and markers, which makes removing graffiti difficult.
Removing Graffiti
Start by determining what type of product was used and the material of the surface that was vandalized. The following removal options work the best at removing spray paint, stencils, shoe polish and markers.
Glass
Scrape away the graffiti with a razor blade, or try paint thinner and rinse clean.
Masonry
Sand blasting or power washing are the best options. You can also opt for chemical graffiti remover such as “Goof Off” Pro Strength Removers .
Fiberglass/Aluminum Sidings
Apply a small amount of paint remover to the surface, then rinse with water.
Vinyl Siding
Just a little bit of chemical solvents will remove graffiti. Use caution as you do not want to remove the vinyl.
Metals
Apply solvents and run it out with sandpaper or steel wool. Power washing will also do the job.
With whichever method you decide to use, test a small area before proceeding with the entire surface.
